Psilocybin for Depression & Anxiety

Psilocybin-assisted therapy

Depression and anxiety can show up in very different ways. You may feel stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed, constantly worried, or caught in the same thoughts and patterns even when you understand where they come from. For some people, these feelings have been present for years. For others, they may come and go or become more difficult during certain periods of life.

Psilocybin-assisted therapy offers a different setting to look at some of these patterns. The experience may bring attention to emotions, relationships, beliefs about yourself, or things you've been avoiding or having a hard time accessing in traditional therapy. You don't need to know exactly what you want to work on before you begin.

At Reset, we don't view psilocybin as a quick fix or a cure for depression or anxiety. We take time to understand what you're experiencing, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping to get from the experience. Your facilitator will be there to prepare with you, support you throughout your psilocybin session, and help you process the experience afterward.

What to Expect

Preparation:  You'll spend at least two hours preparing with your facilitator before your psilocybin session. This gives you time to talk about what you've been experiencing, what has and hasn't been helpful in the past, and what you're hoping for from psilocybin-assisted therapy. You'll also talk about what to expect during the session, concerns you may have, and what helps you feel supported when you're anxious, overwhelmed, or having a difficult time.

Administration Session: Your psilocybin session is private, with your facilitator there throughout the experience. You don't need to spend the session trying to work on your depression or anxiety. You may experience difficult emotions, positive emotions, memories, physical sensations, or things you weren't expecting at all. Your facilitator will be there to support you and help you stay grounded if the experience becomes difficult.

Integration: You'll have at least two hours of integration with your facilitator after your session. This gives you time to talk through the experience, make sense of anything that felt important or confusing, and look at whether you're seeing yourself or your usual patterns differently. You can also talk about how the experience connects with the work you're already doing and what kind of support may be helpful afterward.
