Psilocybin for Trauma & PTSD

Psilocybin-assisted therapy

Trauma can shape how we understand ourselves, relate to others, and respond to the world around us. For some people, traditional therapy provides important tools and understanding, but certain patterns, emotions, or experiences may continue to feel difficult to access or move through.

Individual psilocybin-assisted therapy offers a different setting in which to explore experiences related to trauma and PTSD. At Reset, this work is supported by a licensed clinical facilitator and approached with careful preparation, attention to emotional and physical safety, and respect for each person's individual history and needs. The goal is not to force someone to revisit traumatic experiences, but to create a supportive environment for whatever arises naturally during the experience.

What to Expect

Preparation:  Preparation is especially important when working with trauma. You and your facilitator will spend time discussing your history, current concerns, intentions for the experience, and what helps you feel safe and supported. Together, you'll also talk through what to expect during the psilocybin session and develop a plan for how your facilitator can support you if difficult emotions, memories, or sensations arise.

Administration Session: Your session takes place privately with the support of your clinical facilitator throughout the experience. There is no expectation that you talk about your trauma or work through specific memories during the session. Your facilitator follows your experience, providing reassurance, grounding, or support when needed while allowing you the space to engage with whatever emerges at your own pace.

Integration: After your session, you’ll have at least two hours of integration with your facilitator. You can talk through memories, emotions, physical sensations, changes in perspective, or anything else from the experience that you want to better understand. You don't have to come away with a major insight or resolution. Integration is simply time to make sense of the experience with someone who understands your history and the work you have been doing together.
