Psilocybin for Relationships & Family

Psilocybin-assisted therapy

Our relationships with the people closest to us can be some of the most meaningful and sometimes the most complicated parts of our lives. Patterns in communication, trust, intimacy, parenting, or family dynamics can develop over time and may be difficult to understand or change, even when we genuinely want things to be different.

Psilocybin-assisted therapy can offer a different space to explore yourself in the context of your relationships. Experiences may bring up emotions, memories, patterns, or new perspectives related to how you connect with others, what you need in relationships, and the ways past experiences may influence how you relate to the people in your life today.

At Reset, relationship and family work is individualized to what you're experiencing and what you hope to explore. Sessions can involve one person working individually on relationship or family concerns, or couples and family members participating in the process together. Preparation and integration are tailored to the people involved and their goals for the experience.

What to Expect

Individual Sessions

Preparation:  Preparation gives you and your facilitator time to explore the relationships or family dynamics you want to better understand. You may discuss patterns in communication, connection, trust, boundaries, or other concerns that feel important to you. You’ll also talk about your intentions for the experience and how your facilitator can best support you during the session.

Administration Session: Your psilocybin session is private and supported by your facilitator throughout the experience. There is no expectation that you focus specifically on your relationships during the session. Instead, you are given space to follow whatever arises naturally, which may include emotions, memories, patterns, or perspectives related to yourself and the people in your life.

Integration: After your session, you’ll have time with your facilitator to talk through the experience and how it may connect with the relationships in your life. You might notice something about the way you communicate, patterns you fall into, what you need from others, or how past relationships have shaped you. Integration gives you a place to sort through those pieces and decide whether there is anything you want to approach differently in your relationships.

Couples & Family Sessions

Preparation:  Each participant receives a one-hour individual preparation session with their facilitator to explore their own intentions, needs, questions, and concerns for the experience. The couple or family then comes together for an additional one-hour preparation session to discuss shared intentions, relationship dynamics, expectations for the session, and how each person would like to be supported. The goal is not for everyone to have the same experience, but to create a foundation for participating in the experience together.

Administration Session: Couples or family members participate in the psilocybin experience together, with facilitator support throughout the session. Each person is given space to have their own experience while also allowing opportunities for connection and interaction to happen naturally. The session is not structured like traditional couples or family therapy, and there is no expectation that conflicts or specific relationship issues need to be addressed during the experience.

Integration: Following the experience, integration provides an opportunity to reflect on what emerged during the session and explore how new perspectives, insights, or moments of connection may relate to your relationship or family. You will meet with your facilitator and the other participating members of your couple or family for at least two hours of integration support. This time creates space to revisit the shared experience, better understand one another’s individual experiences, and continue conversations that may have begun during the session.
